Taking A Drink In Front Of A Fire Hydrant

The histology professor said that med school is as easy as taking a drink of water, except that you're sitting in front of a fire hydrant. So far, I'd say that's an accurate statement. I know that you guys don't really know what med schools are like, and I don't know what other school systems are like, but mine is decidedly hands off. We get a new case each week, and they basically say, go solve it; fix this person. It's... intense to say the least. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed in that it's hard to determine exactly what we need to study, because they don't say it outright.

Overall though, I like it. It's fun, challenging, and I like the people that i'm working with.  Tomorrow i get to learn how to use all of my doctor tools, and on Friday I have my first gross lab, which means I get to start cutting up cadavers. O, btw, I looked at Gray's anatomy just to say that I did.

Sarah's coming down this week so I'm excited to see her again. She started about two weeks ago, and unfortunately has a cold at the moment. Her classmates are... intense about partying haha but they're fun. I'm glad to read about everyone's progress, but I must say that I wish that there were more updates from everyone (pot calling the kettle black I know), and I'll be better about it as well. Hope to hear from everyone soon.
