I'm a terrible person

I know, for being a self-proclaimed blogger, it has taken me way too long to finally add to this one. But anyway, here I am. This is actually a great idea to stay in touch, so I hope we at least occasionally use it for that.

So I leave to New York exactly 6 days from today, and I'm spending these last few days thinking about packing (though not actually doing it), going to the beach, finishing some last minute reading, and trying to catch up with friends. It's a weird thought that I might not be home again for more than a year-- I'm probably going to Josh's for Thanksgiving, my family is coming to NYC for Christmas, and I'll probably meet up with the fam somewhere other than home over the summer for a bit of vacation. I know we all went through this moving away thing when we went to college, but I feel like this is different, more real, especially since I'm going to an apartment and not a double room in Perkins (p-unit!! you suck natty).

Speaking of my apartment, we just now finished picking out furniture, which really is what I've been doing for the last month, so that means until halloween or so I won't really have any furniture. If any of you are planning to stay with me before then, don't expect much in the way of amenities--an air bed and a cold hard floor is all you're getting, and you're gunna damn well like it.

I just took this ridiculous recruiting-readiness thing for McKinsey so that I can go recruit youngsters at Brown this fall, and I hated myself after it. It was all "here's what you say to this" and "this is the PC response to that" stuff...why can't I just get wasted with the kids and start yelling obscenities and taking my clothes off? Damn corporate america. Seriously, though, I'm excited to be going back to campus in September (we should def hit up the GCB Joha), but I guess it's going to feel weird being back as a graduate no longer surrounded by friends. Maybe you should all come back and keep me company while I'm there?

I start work on September 4th, so between moving to NYC on August 15th and then, I'll just be getting myself situated, buying cleaning supplies, etc so anyone is welcome to come visit and crash on my cold hard floor.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I haven't heard from Dave at all, so if we want to email or sue him, then I'm all for it. I think he's scared.
